Zuwena De Freitas
Managing Director (CPA)
Zuwena, a Certified Public Accountant, brings 18+ years of diverse expertise in external audit, internal audit, risk and compliance, and financial consulting for government and private entities. Her background includes over a decade in the "Big Four" auditing and consulting firms in the US and Dutch Caribbean.
In 2013, she founded Balansia B.V., a comprehensive accounting and consulting company.
Zuwena specializes in optimizing financial reporting processes, crafting monthly reports tailored for management insights, ensuring compliance with financial standards, aiding in budgeting, cost calculations, audit prep, process enhancements, and resolving complex financial issues.

Betzabeth Ignacius
Director (CPA)
Betzabeth began her auditing career with PricewaterhouseCoopers Dutch Caribbean working in audit. Since then she has worked for over 10 years in the audit and consulting field. She complements that experience with excellent data analysis skills. She has been involved in external audit, internal audit, risk and compliance and financial consulting of Not-For-profits, Utility companies, Financial institutions and retail.
Betzabeth earned her CPA in 2013 and is a graduate of the University of Amsterdam where she double majored in Accounting and Control in 2011.

Soraya de la Paz
Management Assistant
Soraya de la Paz, a dynamic millennial professional, holds a Bachelor's in Business Administration from the Inter-Continental University of the Caribbean. With 13 years in the Telecom Industry as a Management Assistant to top executives, she excels in managing agendas, emails, and facilitating seamless operations behind the scenes.

During 2020-2022, Soraya expanded her skills as an Accounts Payable Officer at United Telecommunication Services/Flow. When the pandemic hit, she shifted gears, becoming a Virtual Tech-Savvy Assistant, specializing in social media graphics, logos and digital business cards.
Known for her organizational skills, flexibility, reliability, and business focus, Soraya ensures tasks are accomplished.

Jeannemely Tong
Manager
Jeannemely brings a wealth of experience to our Balansia team. She spent 6 years at a "Big Four" company in external auditing before joining a top ten global accounting firm for another 3 years. Her expertise spans diverse industries, including development banks, institutions, and regulated banks.
For the past 2 years, she's been immersed in providing comprehensive Internal Audit services at a local development bank while also consulting and auditing for other companies on the island.
Jeannemely earned her Bachelor of Science in Auditing & Controlling from the University of Curaçao in 2010.

Stephany Mercilia
Junior Accountant
Stephany, our Staff Accountant, brings a wealth of finance and accounting expertise to the team. Her background in reconciliations, monthly close processes, and year-end audits forms a solid foundation for financial analysis and reporting. She prioritizes accurate financial records and ensures timely reporting to stakeholders.
Stephany's analytical skills enable her to spot financial trends, strategize for optimal performance, and provide crucial insights into business operations.

Stephany holds a Bachelor's in Accounting from Hilbert College and double-majored in Accounting and Economic Crime Investigation at Genesee Community College for her Associate's degree.
